Day 3!! Still in London!

Wednesday July 8th!

First of all Happy Birthday Mom! So morning started out well. I slept AMAZINGLY so that helped. We had breakfast at the hotel and then loaded our coaches (GO PURPLE COACH!) with our London tour guides for a day of sight-seeing. We drove to the London Tower and on the way there saw a bunch of beautiful buildings with awesome stories. When we got to the towers we got a guided tour around and then saw the crown jewels. They were AWESOME!!!! (not the slang version but the Ewan McGregor version ;) probably not many of you will understand that analogy but i know one person will! lol) They were COVERED with diamonds and the First Star of Africa was HUGE! It is a diamond that is 530 carats.

They also had all the special corination stuff like a solid gold punch bowl that i could have used as a bath and the gold serving spoon that had the end shaped like a conch sea shell. Then we toured the bloody tower and a place where prisoners were kept for so long that they could chisel their family crests into the stone walls.

Then it was all kind of a blur lol so i dont remember the order but we went to Buckingham palace and on London Bridge and to the Royal Place Theatre and to a Beautiful Park and then ended at Westminster Abbey. Sadly there was really bad traffic so we didn't get there before 3:30 for the last tour but it was beautiful outside. Across the street is the Houses of Parliment and the clock tower with Big Ben (I learned Big Ben is actually the biggest bell in the clock tower and not the tower itself.)

After that we split up into our theraer groups to see the plays. Me and Dani chose to go to the Lion King and I'm so glad! The costumes were AMAZING!!! I know it sounds dumb but they looked so real. And the way the actors moved it was just awesome (again in the Ewan sense) Plus the stage was so cool. It turned and pieces went up and down and there was a giant spiral staircase thing that turned and came out of the stage that they used as Pride Rock. Then for the stampede part they had mountains with spinning columns on their side covered in wildebeastes. It was really cool.

We then got in a taxi and went back to the hotel. I rode down Fleet Street and was happy but my camera was dead so i couldn't take a picture of the sign :( Its close enough tho that i'm hoping i can venture down there tomorrow. Well thats all for today! More to come tomorrow! Miss you all MUCHO!!!!
